The chart of emotions is a map of emotional states – a way of identifying and working with the complex range of emotions we experience every moment. It doesn’t imply that any of us are always in any of these states, but as we release and let go of emotions, we find that spend more time in the more energetic and peaceful states.
The Sedona Method embodies the concept that emotions drive our mental states. In the low energy states of apathy, grief and fear, our minds will be quite slow and will easily get locked into fixed thinking patterns where we have few options open to us. As we move up the scale (actually towards our true centre) we have more energy, more creativity, easier contact with others and so on. As we release emotions, we get closer to our true centre – the part that is undisturbed by what is appearing on the outside – and the mind gets progressively quieter and our experience becomes more joyful.
The chart of emotions is known as AGFLAP-CAP for short.
